This is often what we do. When everything’s going well, we’re in a spiritual relaxation, not preparing ourselxes for what’s coming next, to face a possible storm.

Extreme hardship often comes because we don’t realize that we’re in a spiritual war against satan’s army, and that he’s on the lookaut for the slightest loophole to infiltrate our lives.

An army must be prepared for war in peacetime, so that if war breaks out, it can fight back and not be taken by surprise by its adversary. In times of fullnes, we must seek God’s face to hear His Spirit speaking to us, warning us of our possible deviations or disobedience, in order to pull the rug out from under the enemy and work to enlarge the space of our tent, to spread the Kingdom of Heaven around us, to work for it and to lift the Name of Jesus above our life, our neighborhood, or our region.

It’s during these moments of grace that we need to develop spiritually by meditating on the Word, so that it works in depth in our lives, separating the soul ( the realm of feeling) from the spirit (our eternal self which is one with the Spirit of God).
